Braided strands of sage, rosemary, and lemon thyme. Dehydrated for stronger flavor. These dehydrated herb rings are perfect for adding flavor and warmth to soups, broths, fish, or roasted meats. For whole fish, place inside of the fish for aromatic seasoning while grilling or roasting. For roasts, place inside the meats. For soups or broths, boil the ring while cooking and remove before serving.
One of my favorite ways to cook with these herb rings is with fresh, whole fish. We use branzino or red snapper most often when cooking whole fish at home. Starting with a clean fish, drizzle with olive oil evenly over the fish.
Lightly salt (Try Swamp City Salt Co lemon smoked salt!) and season it with paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Make sure the inside of the fish has olive oil as well, then add the full dehydrated herb ring - just as it is! The herbs will steam while the fish cooks and release flavor and aroma from the inside out.
Squeeze half a fresh lemon over the fish and place the other half of the lemon in rings along the top.
You can roast the fish in the oven (time and temp varies by fish) or grill it. Fish should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
Enjoy!
